9.1 Consistent UI components should be used
Consistent UI components, like those that we get with our internal toolkit, greatly assist our users with operating our components. Users with disabilities who may have more trouble using the components, or may take longer to operate them, can learn the interaction patterns from one path or page and then use that on the next page. By being consistent users will know what to expect when they see or hear a specific component.
Details
- UITK is used whenever possible.
- If UITK can not be used the components are made to sound and operate the same as UITK.
Tips
- When UITK can't be used, listen to the similar UITK component with a screen reader and make sure that your component sounds and operates the same.
